Therapy Modalities

  • People often assume that pain comes from a structural issue in the body and then are disappointed when the medical system fails them. However, most chronic pain is actually neuroplastic, not structural, and can be cured through mind-body therapy!

    How it works:

Curing chronic pain has taken a turn away from western medicine and into more effective and research-backed mind-body work. We have evidence that chronic pain and anxiety are results of misfiring neural pathways in the brain and can be rewired for elimination or significant decrease of symptoms through a variety of techniques. PRT includes assessment and confirming diagnostic criteria, psychoeducation on neuroplastic pain, and engaging several healing techniques, including somatic tracking, safety reappraisal, and breaking conditioned responses to retrain the brain and break the fear cycle of chronic pain. Chronic pain symptoms I work with include, but are not limited to, migraines, Fibromyalgia, back pain and other localized pain, pelvic floor pain, vertigo, central sensitization syndrome, CPS, tinnitus, facial pain, and IBS. Emotional Expression and Awareness Therapy (EAET) is another form of therapy that targets stress, trauma, and relational problems often found in people with chronic pain symptoms. I have been personally trained and certified in these techniques by leading experts in the field, Alan Gordon and Dr. Howard Schubiner.

  • EMDR is a therapy intervention designed to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a goal-oriented modality that focuses on alleviating symptoms of anxiety and depression. This method recognizes that psychological distress is based on problematic thinking patterns, unhelpful learned behaviors and core beliefs that influence our overall well-being. CBT emphasizes the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and teaches ways to adjust maladaptive patterns and gain psychological stress relief.
